About AAron Capouellez

AAron Capouellez is the founder and president of PA Woods and Forests, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of amphibians, reptiles, and native habitats across Pennsylvania.
He is also the creator and owner of Woods and Forests Media. This production platform blends science, storytelling, and high-quality media to inspire people to care for wildlife and wild places.

Currently enrolled in the Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM) program at Liberty University, specializing in social media, AAron is developing advanced skills in nonprofit leadership, communication strategy, and community engagement to expand the reach and impact of his conservation initiatives.

His academic journey reflects a strong interdisciplinary foundation: he earned an M.S. in Biology and a Certificate in Geospatial Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), as well as a B.A. in Communication with a minor in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ).
This blend of science and communication uniquely equips him to translate complex ecological issues into accessible and engaging content for diverse audiences.

Among his most notable accomplishments is the creation of Frog Week, now in its seventh year. This conservation project combines six months of intensive fieldwork—monitoring populations of native frogs and toads, collecting ecological data, and engaging in habitat stewardship—with a digital storytelling component.

The results are shared through Woods and Forests Media’s YouTube channel, where audiences can witness the beauty and challenges of amphibian conservation in real time. Frog Week has led to regional discoveries, new species records, and stronger community participation in citizen science.
